• Determine the resolution you need. Digital camcorder are available in two resolutions, there is the standard resolution and high definition (HD). If you own a high definition TV or HDTV then it would be better if you have high definition camcorder. This is inconsideration of the fact that it will not be much fun to enjoy crystal clear video in a non-HDTV. The standard definition is mostly popular due to the cheaper price. • Select the media format. It is important for you to choose a camcorder which has the ability to record on hard drives, flash memory cards, in built flash memory. If you are involved with a large filming, you might prefer to consider getting yourself the camcorder with hard drives option which gives you the option of storing on large memory.
• What more do you need. For instance, do you need in-built special speakers and LCD screen.
• Try your camcorder before purchasing. You can check the LCD screen in the sun to ensure that it is clear in outdoor shooting. Consequently, check the audio if there is an extra external microphone. Ensure that you have a jack to plug in, also try out the controls to ensure that you are very comfortable.
